I recent­ly fin­ished a Thom­my Dress, the con­vert­ible flower girl dress and com­mu­nion dress. The sheath dress is hand­made with #5320 ivory French alen­con lace with cream lin­ing and ivory linen. The detach­able tulle skirt is made with an ivory sash and white, light ivory, and ivory tulle.

The Thom­my Dress is a shift dress for girls who need to look the part for a wed­ding, Bat Mitz­vah, or First Com­mu­nion, but who also pre­fer com­fort­able, sporty attire. They love its soft knit bodice lin­ing and linen, and the hooks that keep the sash in place with­out slip­ping. But when it is time for a change, the tulle skirt/sash is eas­i­ly detach­able, and the under­ly­ing shift dress has the added con­ve­nience of pock­ets too.
