A Day in the Life of a Dressmaker and Fashion Designer Have you ever wondered what’s behind the vision and construction of a beautiful dress? Hours and hours of labor? Yes. Creative vision? Absolutely, but this creativity must also be firmly grounded in basics of textiles and construction technique. This is why I am not just a fashion designer. What I see in my head I know how to make...

Part 1 Piccolas by Anagrassia’s “Frontier” Fall Collection: The Kid’s Sports Jacket
It’s officially fall in Northern Indiana. Our warm summer nights have transitioned into crisp cool days. The leaves have lost their vibrant greens and taken on a myriad of amber, golden and crimson hues. A few remain, clinging to trees, but most are blanketing the ground where they’ve fallen, just waiting for an eager child to rake them into piles for jumping. And right down the street, in a shop...
Burdastyle Wool Navy High Neck Cape with Gold Irish Buttons

The combination of soft, thick, and (somewhat)...

This was a tall order especially since bomber jackets with dinosaur appliqués was not an option. Therefore I had to be a bit more creative with the limited materials and time I had available. I decided upon burnt orange/brown tweed wool with sequins, which remained from a previous purchase in NYC. I...
