Khrystos Voskres! Christ is risen! Phew! Lent is over and true to tradition; I barely finished my annual Easter dress for Easter Mass. Every year at this time, I design and sew a Ukrainian inspired Easter dress. This year, I had trouble choosing between 4 dress designs. So by the time I nailed down a design and started the embroidery, it was already half way through Lent. Blue Ukrainian Embroidered Dress A...

Navy Wool Jacket with Leather Cuffs
Published August 30, 2019 Below are more photos and details for Girl #1’s Coat from the Sustainable Fashion Plaid Jackets blog post. Navy Wool and Brown Real Leather Woman’s Custom Jacket
Here is a project from earlier this year. It’s another wool jacket like my previous jackets. The jacket is 100% navy wool with English rayon lining and real genuine (Made in Chicago) leather cuffs. I love this jacket and plan to make many more! The lapels and waist pleats make the jacket very flattering and chic. I think the current buttons will eventually be replaced with new buttons that have more...

It’s officially fall in Northern Indiana. Our warm summer nights have transitioned into crisp cool days. The leaves have lost their vibrant greens and taken on a myriad of amber, golden and crimson hues. Burdastyle Wool Navy High Neck Cape with Gold Irish Buttons
Here is another adult cape I made this season. This cape was made with 100% wool and gold Irish buttons. I used Burdastyle’s 9/2015 #115 sewing pattern. The only change I made to the pattern were the placements of buttons/buttonholes. I also hand-stitched all the edges/hems of the cloak, instead of adding piping/bias tape trim. This cape is very warm and perfect for Notre Dame football tailgates & games in the fall!...
