Over 2 years ago, I made my sister’s wedding rehearsal dress.
I used Vogue’s V8766 pattern.
I used ivory raw silk for the underlay, poly bridal lace for the overlay, and a lightweight ivory polyester fabric for the lining.
This dress was pretty heavy from all the layers!
I adjusted the pattern to have thin straps and shorter hem length.
Also, I did not attach the sleeves to the raw silk underlay. This gave her more ease and movement in the arms.
Overall, I was very happy with the results and exceeded all my expectations (and I think my sisters too)!
She looked very happy and absolutely beautiful!
At the very last-minute, I decided to make myself something for the wedding rehearsal 🙂
With no pattern, I made a silk dress using a floral crêpe de chine silk I received as a gift. I had just a few hours to make the dress, so I rushed the entire process and skipped important steps! The final dress was certainly NOT my best work, but I still loved it and continue to wear it today!
