Mother of the Bride Dress & DIY Ukrainian Wedding Part 3

I love looking through old photo albums, but it’s especially fun when they contain old photos of my parents!

I can remember the first time I saw this photo of my parents on their wedding day. I was a young girl and I never forgot it! So, I thought it would be fun to dig it up and scan it for the blog post today!

My mom’s mother of the bride (MOB) dress was my second MOB dress I’ve made.

(I hope to post something soon about my first MOB dress!)

I’ve enjoyed building these MOB dresses! First, it’s fun to challenge/expand my skills! Second, brides’ mothers have more design options to choose from and it’s exciting helping them choose the design, color, fabric, and accessories! But lastly, they are the ones that should be honored and deserve to look & feel great on their daughter’s wedding day. With that said, I loved making my sister’s wedding gown- but there’s something extra special about making a dress for my mother (or for a mother of the bride)!

Here are photos of the dress on my sister’s wedding day!

Read more about the making of the dress here.

Meet the host of the reception!
Silk wool fabric is absolutely gorgeous and breathes very well.…the only downfall is that it wrinkles easily!
Dresses ready to go!
