During the Coronavirus shutdown, the world was sheltered in place and the churches were forced to close. Even though the world isn’t fully opened at this point, we are slowly reopening. It’s really nice to have our churches open and the sacraments administered again.
In the last few weeks, I received photos from (old) customers and friends who baptized their newborns in Anagrassia gowns passed down through their families. (Thank you for sharing your photos! <3) I’ve also made a few new gowns for customers and friends, which I’ll try my best to share them on the blog over the next month.
I just finished another Ukrainian hand embroidered christening gown for a baby boy. This design is very special to me because it’s a remake/version of the boy’s baptismal gown my babcha made for family and friends. (See first blog post here: Ukrainian Boys Baptismal Gown.) Over the years, the design has improved and changed a bit. The gown I just finished is the best one I’ve made to date. I really love satin buttons down the back (instead of having hidden front snaps) and the clean pin tucks down the front and back.
