A couple weeks ago, a lady asked me to (literally) whip up a bridesmaid dress for her!

Blue Bridesmaid Dress with Bow and Sleeves
On Sunday, she approached me and asked if I could make her a blue bridesmaid dress before her wedding on Saturday. Her original dress no longer fit her and the style/quality didn’t suit the occasion.
I told her if she bought the fabric and pattern before Tuesday, I ‘d drop all my projects and sew the dress!
She chose a royal blue polyester (which resembled a thick dupioni silk) and the 2444 Simplicity sewing pattern.
The pattern required no lining, but we decided it would be best to line the dress. However, the lady didn’t buy enough lining, so I only lined the bodice and sleeves. The fabric didn’t need lining or interfacing, so we were in luck!
This fabric was a breeze to cut and sew (compared to the fine silks I used for my sister’s wedding)!
I only had to seam rip a couple small mistakes. I was lucky to have no big hiccups during this project!
Overall, I was very pleased with the dress!
She looked beautiful at the wedding!
